On 19-20 September 2012 the Final Meeting of the EU-FP7-funded ENPRA project (Risk Assessment of Engineered NanoParticles) will be held at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh (UK).
After three and a half years of research, the team of the ENPRA project is looking forward to presenting the final results of its activities on the assessment and management of potential health risks from exposure to engineered nanoparticles.
As part of an annual series (2012, 2011 and 2010) and as final event of the project, the meeting will bring together the project leaders as well as regulators and other stakeholders.
Participation and Programme
To ensure a balanced representation of backgrounds and expertise, participation in this workshop is by invitation only. However, a limited number of places are available to interested participants upon request. In this case, please contact the meeting organisers at jrc-ihcp-nanotechnology by 02/09/2012.
Further programme details for the meeting will be available from the website soon.

Joint JRC Nano Event and 2nd ENPRA Stakeholders Workshop
The 2nd ENPRA Stakeholders Workshop was held on 10-12 May 2011 in Varese (Italy) on the ‘Challenges of Regulation and Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials’. To view the report from this meeting, click here.
Contributions to the "Challenges of Regulation and Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials" event on 10-12 May 2011 are now available.
The workshop involved about 90 participants, from industry, government, NGOs, and academia. During two and a half days 34 experts from 26 different organisations informed participants on the latest scientific progress in the field of nanoparticle risk assessment within the ENPRA project and discussed recent developments concerning legislation in the EU and beyond.
Twenty-eight presentations were delivered at the Joint nano Event and Stakeholders Workshop and are now available on-line: ENPRA Workshop 2011 - Programme with Presentations.

Environment, Health and Safety Aspects of Nanomaterials: Excerpts of the second ENPRA EONS Report available for public download
(6th July) ENPRA's second Expert Panel Meeting took place in Ispra, Italy in April 2010. The meeting provided a forum for invited experts from around the world to discuss key publications and findings from the first half of 2010, and to form opinions on their value to future nanotechnology EHS research. The proceedings of this meeting were summarised in the first 'European Observatory on Nano Safety' (EONS) report, which was available in full to ENPRA members.
We are now pleased to be able to make publicly available excerpts of this report, which compile three of the key publications highlighted within the full report. To download a copy, click here (pdf, 1mb).
